  1. You missed Homelea Boothstown Worsley

  2. Mam mon says:

I bet there's a few more missing too. Might jog a few memories eh? Fingers crossed

  3. Anonymous says:

were they all listed at one legal firm?
it seems they're advertising their cover-up services, rather than reparation

  4. The Red Flag says:

Tell you a true story. Back in the late 1970's my regiment was based in Elizabeth Barracks in Minden. Young lad joined our company. Strange soul. Kept himself to himself and had a habit of standing in the doorways of the rooms at night just staring. He came from a kids home somewhere round Frodsham. He had some sort of chip on his shoulder with them and when you had a few beers with him he would always say that one day he was going to make them pay.

Anyways, one day the Platoon Sergeant walks in, details a couple of blokes and says break his locker open, seperate his personal stuff into one box, his military stuff into another. Strip his bed and hand his bedding in, you won't be seeing him again. Turns out he had gone back to the kids home and garroted a young girl with his belt to a tree in the grounds.

Is that one of the homes that is on the list?

  5. adeybob bob says:

What a chilling list. Thank you, Angleseadrift, for going thru the painful process of finding and compiling this heartbreaking list. Each institution on this list is going to get carved on our Govts ass, if the millions of us, appalled at child abuse and it's cover up, stand up and simply say 'no more'. I urge you all to follow the concept of #no2abuse on twitter; that we will use any peaceful and lawful means to scream at govt that we're not going to let them force our kids thru their many suicide machines…not anymore, and especially not when it's antisocial govt policies – and lack of holistic thinking – that cause most of the major issues that get children sent to care in the first place. Not Anymore. We have drafted a petition to present to govt to reflect our national grief, and we will relentlessly pursue the issue of it's significance, as we believe that this will be the touchpaper which will blow the whole issue of child abuse, and the criminally-negligent response of successive Govts to it, into a stratospheric forum of complete accountability and transparency.

99.9% of the allegations made by former pupils from these Homes were false. These Homes were Approved Schools for delinquent teenagers who were sent there by the Courts. There has NEVER been any evidence found to convict – only the lies told by adults !!

  7. Anonymous says:

Dennis Laverty – it is time you admitted the truth that Messham and Gregory were never abused by Staff whilst they were in Approved Schools,Community Homes, and Remand Centres. They may well have been abused BEFORE they went there, and AFTER they left, but both are good liars.

  8. The Red Flag says:

Think you'll find he does doubt Messham.

  9. Mam mon says:

hahahahaha Dennis indeed. You give yourself away using that name

  10. Mam mon says:

Indeed, I do doubt Messham and many others who've said they're victims of abuse. Plenty of false accusations flying about all the place. Care staff are easy targets so are ex-residents themselves.

  11. Mam mon says:

I'm no statistician but yes many lies were told by many adults about their time in care and other establishments.

  12. Anonymous says:

I love how the boy who was not abused has become the internet authority on child abuse in the UK, while doggedly trying to disprove abuse ever took place. Makes one's head spin.

    Sin..Salla…bin….It is all but Spin.

    Keep writing!

  13. Mam mon says:

As long as you remain anonymous you're words shout out comedy. Me, an “internet authority on child abuse in the UK”? Piss myself laughing rolling on floor

  14. Tavdy says:

Banham Marshalls College, formerly the Old Rectory School, of Banham, Norfolk, was closed in 2004, and the owner/principal George Robson convicted of child abuse in 2007. He died of heart failure the day after sentencing.

There were allegations of abuse against at least five other staff members but only two have been convicted as far as I know. There are about a hundred claims being persued against the school by the victims.

  15. Jack Ketch says:

I was in one of these homes in 1971…..Ashbank in York.

I underwent violence as a 12-year-old that would make you shudder. Don't tell me about these places. I was in one. It wasn't just the physical violence, it was the psychological violence as well. It is very easy for an adult to play mind games with a child.

I never saw any sexual abuse but it wouldn't suprise me at all to hear that it happened.

  16. THIS IS HALF RIGHT BUT IT WAS A BOY THAT WAS MURDERED PAUL CROSSLY HE WAS 14 AND THE YEAR WAS 1979 RIP PAUL

  17. William Wade says:

I tried to steal car, and skipped school, I was 11 years old.
Sent to Stamford House Remand Home, Shepherd's Bush late 1952-February 14/1953.
I think the detention center was on Goldhawk Road
I was sexually abused at Stamford House Remand Home, from late 1952 until February 1953.
It was always the same teacher at night in the dormitory, he was about 6 ft. tall, between 30 and 40 years old, always wore blue suite, I think he wore glasses. In my case I was fondled around the genitals, some of the boys were taken to a room of the dormitory and buggered (raped by teacher).
I never knew the name of the teacher, I was only in Stamford House for a short time (about six weeks), I only knew the boys by there first names.
Some of the teachers who taught school, were sadistic, hit you with ruler, slap us in the head, in most cases for little or no reason. Other teachers were kind and cared for us.
This is all I can remember, It was 60 years ago.
My only mistake was remaining silent for 60 years.
    ************************************************
Sent to Finnart House School, Oatlands Drive. Weybridge, Surrey. Feb 14 1953.
I was at Finnart House from February 14/1953 to March 17/1956.
I was treated very well at this school.
I learned a lot at this school, I now live in Canada.
I think this school closed 1970.

  18. Mam Mon says:

Thank you for your comment. You've made bigger mistakes than remaining silent sir. The psychology of abuse is a determinant factor of the abuser when they are intent on abusing. If they had their way you would never have written the above. Respect. I got friends over there in the Big C. One day you never know………………..

  19. William Wade says:

I have informed the Police in London. The Police will do there job, and investigate. The higher ups in Government or London Counsel will kill it.
I do not think any thing will come of this. Abuser in the 50,s and 60,s always seam to get away with this.

  20. I was in Kerrison in Suffolk never abused but had to work on the farm from 6am until 5pm in the winter and from 6am to 8pm in the summer months very rarely went to school lessons i was 13 yrs old when i arrived there and stayed there until i was 16 yrs old
No schooling no education no GSE and i was sent there for not going to school what a joke

  21. Anonymous says:

what kind of nonsense are you talking about? they where not all approved schools and the two on the list I was in where definitely not!! there are some who would lie but if there is a statistic it will usually show it cant be proved because its a gorilla the vistim usually fights and one word against another. usually most pedo freeks got away with it for so long because of this but now technology and the need to twll there story changed everything!!
I think usually it takes a pedo to say what you said without the slightest feeling of remorse for the victims or compassion for there plight.

  22. Anonymous says:

was anyone in argyle manor in the 70's. I can't name names but one person whom was there caring for children is not listed on there records.
I can only assume that either he was a volunteer or helped out there without any pay or need to register his details with Ealing council?
I reported something to the police in 2007 and they could not find any person named with the council or tied to the home at the time. both me and my sister where in argyle manor and we both remember him being there as a carer there??
