Untainted Love.

Imagine

A young couple meet and fall in love. The fall deeper and deeper in love until each of them realise they’ve found their soul mate, life partner, lover. Time passes and their mutual love grows and strengthens. Their love life is beyond their comprehension and they’re unable to keep their hands off each other despite the environment they find themselves in. They could be shopping, they might be at the cinema, the swimming pool, or down the local pub watching the rugby. Eyes constantly finding each other, hands forever squeezing hands. Fingers rubbing fingers, tantalising lip pouting when no-one else is watching. Its magical.

Together they begin to enjoy life and all that life has to offer. Their first child is born. First home secured and for the first time they feel liberated from the shackles of society’s expectations and when they lock their door they’re in their own world, secure, private and safe. They make the most of their time alone and the relationship bonds get even tighter. Their love life just gets better. They discover there’s a world they’ve never experienced and begin to be adventurous with each other. They purchase fun toys. They buy sexy clothing. The excitement makes their hearts beat faster every time. Its perfect.

A little later in life their are blessed with another healthy child. Its perfect. Friends and family can see the work they put into their family and have nothing but admiration and respect for the young couple. They can always be found down the local park or on the local playing fields with their two children and the family pet. There’s a constant stream of visitors to their home and they always being invited to family gatherings and various celebratory events. Its perfect.

As they mature so does their love life. Each time it feels better than the last. A few sneaky photos are snapped. They laugh and joke at the thought of being caught in the act on the beach or in the woods. It excites them too. Their closest friends of thirty years are invited to share their thoughts about the possibilities of being caught having a romp in a secluded wood or beach cove. They couple are stunned silent and listen as their friends share a few of their experiences about some of the places they’ve “had nookie”. Holiday hotel balcony’s, university basements, on trains and planes and a few hysterical places too. The couple’s confidence grows their love life is perfect. They agree to a secret. They get exited and take a few pics and secretly put them where they may or may not be discovered by other like minded people from around the world who’ve also decided the same secret. As long as only they and others around the world know where to go their secret was safe and their secret was sexy. Sometimes they bother to look sometimes they don’t. It’s a rare thing for them to have the time. A third beautiful child is handed to them by  nature. It’s perfect.

One of them has a disagreement with a work colleague over dishonesty and as a result there’s a falling out. The colleague decides he wants revenge and starts to dig for dirt to use against his colleague. The couple discuss removing their secret from its hiding place in case its discovered by the work colleague. Threats have been made and dirt is thrown. They decide against its removal as they feel that not even the darkest of characters they know in life would sink so low and reveal their intimate and most precious secret. They’re mistaken. The secret is found. Not only is it found by the dishonest colleague and his fellow dishonest work mates, bit its about to be revealed to everyone else in the work place and to the public in general.  Including the couples children. They are helpless and have no method of preventing their secret from being revealed. A dilemma? Never! So strong is the couples love they agree to deal with the consequences the only way they know how. They smile, they kiss and they hold each other tighter than ever. Impenetrable trust and honesty will be their saviour.

The men behind the discovery and disclosure of the couples secret are over-joyed at their luck. They jump and they laugh and they attempt to spread their hateful disclosures among the rest of the work place. Imagine their surprise when all but a few colleagues turn their backs on them. The company dismisses them and they’re find themselves alone with only each other outside the company gates. They have yet to let their families know the reason behind their dismissals. Friends, cousins, distant relatives and children have no idea of the twos’ capabilities and the damage they’ve happily inflicted on other families in their quest for revenge. They agree to go for a pint and buy a copy of the Sun on their way to the pub, stopping for chips and gravy on the way. At the pub they act as if they have not a care in the world. They pretend to be happy and laugh with all the other single unemployable’s at the bar. Have you seen these? Each pulls out the couples secret and offer a viewing to the lads. The lads turn away. The music stops. The bar closes. Both of them look at each other, shoulders are shrugged, pint glasses gulped empty…….”shall we have another”? One of them thinks. His thoughts are of his own family his daughters, his sons maybe, his wife, his community, his total worth as a man of planet earth. The camera pans away and both are left to each other. Another bag of chips
on the way home.

One lies in bed that evening looking at the ceiling and secretly wishes he had similar secrets to the couple. Why didn’t he and his wife have the trust and confidence to have their own secrets? If only they had their own secret. Him and his long suffering wife. Maybe then he wouldn’t have done what he’s now thinking about. He gets an erection but it doesn’t last. Even when he’s been looking at hundreds of other peoples secrets he can’t keep his erection for more than a few seconds. He falls asleep crying whilst holding his limp penis. His wife sleeps soundly beside him and he’s angry at her. She’s well past the age of being able to have secrets. He mutters to himself, bitch. Why not us, why not me, me and you? He realises his own personal reasons for spreading his friends discoveries. He falls into an angry bitter dream like state of sleep.

The other man sits at the kitchen table. The orange glow of the street lamp outside shades one side of his face. He stares at his little electronic life mate. His power pad, his world. Those who live in the same house are all sleeping. He’s alone with his digital friend, flicks the screen and stares at the couples secret. He sees beauty and love and holds his head in shame for himself. What a waste of a body. Why was I allowed to share the same air as these good people. I’m a fake, a worm, a dead soul inside. He swallows a couple of the pills he blagged from the doctor, drinks the largest swigg of cheapest Brandy  his mouth can hold and starts to masturbate whilst looking at millions of other peoples secrets. He just about manages the stairs and collapses on the bed next to the poor soul who’s endured his company for the past few years. She’s just another in his life who’ll be let down and forgotten, trodden on and left behind. She turns over and continues to pretend to be asleep. As long as the children are safe she’s happy. As long as…. only!

The couple finish making passionate love. Over twenty years of practise have taught them well. Both realise, that hypothetically, they’ve been seen in having nookie in the woods. They don’t say it out loud but they both know it……it excites them. They pull on their coats and run away giggling and laughing. They talk and agree not to let the men effect their lives and decide to not panic and carry on with life. Who knows, maybe they’ll have another secret? One which only they themselves have access to. Not a soul on earth will ever know unless they decide to be the ones who share their future secrets. Wife drifts off into a deep sleep on his left shoulder. When he’s certain she’s with the fairies he looks at her. He wants to cry and hold her all night. It was his argument at work not hers. They had no right to involve his family, his soul mate. He leans over, kisses both of her eyes. He sits ups decides on his revenge. In the dim light of their bedroom he leans to his right bends down picks something up and starts to eat the prawn cocktail crisps he sneakily hidden under his side of the bed. x

There’s millions of songs I could have chosen to end this entry but felt the imagery and words of this sums up my feelings. Enjoy.
